In order to process credit cards on the web you will need to choose a payment processing solution or a PPS. There are many to choose from on the web.
The PPS detects that an order has been placed, securely encrypts and forwards the Authorization Request to the Consumer’s Credit Card Issuer to verify the consumer’s credit card account and funds availability.
The Authorization (or Decline) Response is returned via the PPS to the Merchant. (Round-trip, this process averages less than three seconds).
Upon approval, the Merchant fulfills the consumer’s order.
The PPS sends the settlement request to the Merchant Account Provider.
The Merchant Account Provider deposits transaction funds into the Merchant’s Checking Account.

Upon signing up for a PPS you should be able to:
- View transactions details and statistics.
- Void a transaction that has not yet been settled.
- View transactions according to the type for a given batch.
- Select previously authorized transactions for capture.
- Download transaction details for personal record keeping.
